Injections
There are 3 main types of injections that Mr Waters uses to improve many hip and knee conditions as follows:
Steroids: combined with local anaesthetic these tend to give rapid relief but may not be long lasting. Read more here.
Viscosupplementation: This is a joint injection with an artificial lubricant and shock-absorbing gel, similar to the body’s own synovial fluid. Read more here.
Biologics: This includes Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF). This involves a sample of your own blood being taken, growth factors separated in a centrifuge and then a small amount re-injected into the painful area. For soft tissue and joint problems. Read more here.
